HYDROPHILIC SEALS
Hydrophilic Seals for CIPP Lining — Watertight Protection at Every Connection
Hydrophilic seals are a critical component in cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation, engineered to swell on contact with water and form a tight, reliable barrier against leaks. Once activated by moisture, the seal expands to fill the annular space between the liner and host pipe at joints, lateral connections, and termination points — the areas most vulnerable to inflow and infiltration (I&I). This added layer of protection reinforces the watertight integrity of the entire CIPP system, going beyond the liner itself to deliver long-term, code-compliant performance. Every seal is manufactured to meet ASTM F2561, F2599, F3240, and F3097 standards.
For proper installation, use a minimum of 4 seals per liner shot — 2 at the upstream end and 2 at the downstream end — to ensure full end-to-end coverage. When working with transitional liners (e.g., 4" to 6"), match the seal size to the final installation diameter on each end.
Key Features
- Water-Activated Swelling — Expands on contact with moisture to form a compression-style gasket seal between liner and host pipe
- Multi-Point Leak Protection — Seals joints, laterals, and termination points where I&I risk is highest
- ASTM Compliant — Meets ASTM F2561, F2599, F3240, and F3097 for CIPP rehabilitation and hydrophilic gasket installation
- Universal CIPP Compatibility — Works with inversion and pull-in-place systems across a range of pipe diameters
